No national or foreign leader is visiting Livorno, this is the police escort opening the “Tirreno-Adriatico”, an annual bicycle race that this year starts from Livorno.
It is called the “race of the two seas” because it crosses Italy from coast to coast in several stages.
This 2010 edition will finish next Tuesday in San Benedetto del Tronto, on the Adriatic sea.
