I'm more apt to believe that it was a conscious effort on ESPN's part to "smooth over," manipulate, gloss-ify -- however you want to put it -- the original photograph.

Sports may be entertainment, but a snap of a moment like that, between these two big name women's soccer stars on the world stage, shouldn't be PhotoShopped as if it were a shot of, say, Kim Kardashian strutting down a Beverly Hills boulevard on her way to a dress fitting. Because sorry, whether you like it or not, that's how Hope Solo looked that night. It was what it was!

Not to mention that the idea of a woman's CLOTHED erect nipple being a big bad eyesore or "issue" is a whole different story. Why are we so friggin' uptight about such a silly little thing? It's the human body. It's a real live woman. Oh noes!

The bottom line: Sports photojournalism should fall under the same category as news photojournalism. The aim should be to capture the TRUTH, regardless of whether it's potentially, slightly embarrassing and raw.

Mumbai Blast Photos - On Friday, the ATS team questioned Danish Riaz alias Safi nabbed by the Detection of Crime Branch in addition to getting leads of the scooter on which one of the bomb had been planted.

In the first lead into Mumbai blast investigations, a team of Maharashtra ATS camped in the city to investigate into how a city trader owned scooter was used in the Zaveri Bazar blast on Wednesday. However, later in the night it was learnt that scooter owner was cleared by the police of involvement in the plot.

Primary investigations revealed that the scooter on which one of the bombs was planted was owned by a diamond trader from Manek Chowk area in Ahmedabad, Madan Sanghvi. The trader had shifted to Mumbai before a few months and was to apply for the local registration number of the vehicle.

Sources said that, he had parked his scooter and went inside a building for some work. "Some unidentified person kept a tiffin bomb on the scooter, which eventually exploded," he reportedly told the cops. However, the Mumbai sleuths questioned him after the blast and reportedly gave him a clean chit. Sources said that Sanghvi shifted to Mumbai to settle there before few months.

Meanwhile, a separate team of Maharashtra ATS along with the Mumbai Crime Branch is interrogating Danish for his alleged connection with the IM operatives. Danish was recently arrested by the city police in connection with the Ahmedabad serial blasts.

Danish is believed to be a key resource person of IM operatives. A resident of Ranchi in Jharkhand, Danish used to work in a software company in Hyderabad. He was present in the terrorist camp conducted in Kerala before the 26/7 serial blasts.

Danish was arrested on a tip off provided by Shaikh Mujeeb, another IM operative nabbed by the Madhya Pradesh police. The teams had interrogated Danish on Friday and the questioning may continue for few more days. Police sources said so far no leads have been provided by him.

He was interrogated in connection with the people involved in IM operations in the present context and also to know IM's future plans. The role and location of Danish was revealed during Mujeeb's interrogation by a team of DCB. A graduate of arts, Danish worked in ESN Technology at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.

Jaycee Dugard was forced to tell her daughters that she had been kidnapped and held captive by their father for 18 years, after the girls became upset about him being arrested.

According to Jaycee’s stepfather, Carl Probyn, “He was the girls’ father – they all cried when he was arrested. Jaycee had to explain that she had been kidnapped. They were a family. They wept when he was captured. They were attached to each other. They thought Jaycee was their sister, They don’t realize she was kidnapped.”

Joann Behrman-Lippert, a psychologist who has researched child abductions, told The Times, “For these children their father is still their father, no matter what has happened. It’s very complex and not a black-or-white situation.”

Meanwhile, authorities are looking into whether Garrido may have been behind the disappearance of other young girls dating back to the late 1980s.

The FBI is combing Garrido’s property for evidence relating to unsolved cases.  Cadaver dogs unearthed a bone fragment on a neighboring property, but investigators have not yet determined whether it is human or animal.

Claudia Schiffer launched her first cashmere collection - she wore all the time as a working mom such as cashmere dresses and sweaters.

"I am always very busy, I have a family life... I want to wear the same outfit when I bring my children to school and then go to work with it and in the evening I want to be able to just change accessories," Schiffer told Reuters at the launch of the Claudia Schiffer clothing line in trendy Paris boutique Colette.

"Effortless chic. That is the idea of it," she added.

Schiffer's collection included long tube black and navy blue dresses, grey oversized cardigans and cable-knit sweaters costing from 250 to 500 euros ($360-$725).

Schiffer, who lives in Britain, is married to film producer Matthew Vaughn with whom she has three children.

While creating her brand was a "dream come true," the model acknowledged history was full of celebrities who had gone into fashion. For some, such as former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, the venture has been a success, while others have proved disastrous such as U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan at Emanuel Ungaro.

The three years that she has already spent behind bars will be counted for time served, as well as good behavior.

Casey Anthony, acquitted of killing her daughter Caylee, will be released from jail on July 17 instead of July 13, according to court officials.

Judge Belvin Perry originally estimated that Anthony could be freed by late July or early August, but her attorney Jose Baez said she would be released July 13, ABC News reported.

But an updated statement from the Orange County Corrections Department projected Anthony's release for July 17.

The jury acquitted Anthony on charges of aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse Tuesday. If convicted of the more serious charges, she would have faced the death penalty.

Casey Anthony, 25, partied after her daughter Caylee died, acquiring a new tattoo with the Italian words for "Beautiful Life" and entering herself into a hot body contest.

Prosecutors alleged that Casey Anthony drugged her daughter with chloroform and suffocated her using duct tape. The third birthday of a missing Orlando toddler came Saturday with still no sign of the little girl, despite her family’s hope that she would be home by then.

A vigil for Caylee Marie Anthony was held Friday night. Her 22-year-old mother, Casey Marie Anthony, remains jailed on $500,000 bond on charges of child neglect, failing to immediately report her daughter’s disappearance and lying to police. She plans to go back to court to again ask a judge to lower her bond.

A pond near the home of the tot’s grandparents was searched by Orange County dive teams Friday in what police described as a routine monthly training exercise; three submerged vehicles were found, according to MyFOXOrlando.com. Two of them had been reported stolen to Orlando police.

The retention pond is off Chickasaw Trail, less than a mile from the home of Cindy and George Anthony, where Casey and Caylee had been living until around the time of the child’s disappearance on or around June 16.

India's most famous and controversial modern artist, M.F. Husain, who fled the country in 2006 after death threats from Hindu extremists, died in London on Thursday at the age of 95.

Indian media cited family members saying that he had suffered a heart attack and lung failure after being in "indifferent health" for several weeks.

The Muslim painter's death brought to an end to a turbulent chapter in modern India that showed how religious sentiments could still be easily aroused -- often for political ends -- and the limits of artistic self-expression.

In life, Hindu ultra-conservatives including the regional Shiv Sena party in Husain's home state of Maharashtra denounced his works as pornographic, blasphemous and an affront to national values.

Controversy failed to dampen the enthusiasm of overseas collectors: in 2008, one of his paintings, influenced by Hindu epic The Mahabharata, fetched $1.6 million at Christie's in London.

But even in death he deeply divided Indian opinion, with the public split between those who saw him as a great artist and others who attacked him for depicting naked Hindu gods.

Among the more generous tributes was that of President Patil, who said Husain's death would leave "a deep void in the world of art and creativity".

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that in M.F. Husain death, "the nation has lost an iconic artist and the art world one of its most colourful personalities, whose genius left a deep imprint on Indian art".

Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray, who was at the forefront of the campaign against Husain, was conciliatory, saying that the artist was "a national asset and his contribution to the field of Indian art can never be overlooked".

"Whatever controversies happened should be laid to rest with his passing and if his family wishes to bring back the mortal remains home, it should be allowed," he added.

But Thackeray maintained that M.F. Husain had "slipped" by his depictions of revered Hindu goddesses in the nude, which angered violent Hindu fanatics and led to his self-imposed exile due to death threats and endless legal battles.

M.F. Husain supporters were angry that he had to die abroad and criticised the government for its belated praise.

"India didn't have the privilege of seeing him in his last moments, that is a huge loss for this country," Jitish Kallat, one of India's leading young artists, told the television news channel NDTV.

"I think it is a black mark on the Indian state which has not understood the immensity and the relevance of Husain."

Mumbai socialite and novelist Shobhaa De added: "Anything it (the government) chooses to do now in retrospect is really an insult to his memory.

"Why couldn't he be allowed to come back to his own country as a proud Indian?"

Maqbool Fida Husain, a former Bollywood poster artist whose career took off after Indian independence in 1947, had been in London where three of his paintings were sold by the auction house Bonhams as recently as last week.

He left India in 2006 after Hindu hardliners accused him of insulting their faith, leading to attacks on his home and galleries showing his work, death threats and even a $11.5 million bounty on his head.

He said in 2008 he was homesick and longed to return to Mumbai, where he trained at the Sir J.J. School of Art, but accused the government of not being prepared to provide him with the protection he needed.

Husain, who often went barefoot and was once thrown out of a Mumbai private members' club for not wearing shoes, accepted Qatari citizenship in 2010, admitting that his advancing years made it impossible to fight his detractors.

Indian ministers recently tried unsuccessfully to tempt him home.

The artist always said that nudity symbolised purity, insisting that naked goddesses were a long-established part of the country's iconography dating back to antiquity.

Many saw him as a victim of the fierce communalism that gripped India in the 1990s and early 2000s and of the socially conservative country's tough censorship laws.
