This is not a Supermax by the sea, but the new “Diacinto Cestoni” Municipal Aquarium. Our first sea aquarium opened in the 1930s, but it was soon destroyed by the war. Rebuilt in the 1960s, it was brought to an inglorious end in the 1990s by the sudden death of all the fishes. After almost ten years of works, an opening ceremony took place last July, in an obviously unfinished structure with several empty tanks. Some more fishes and a few sharks have arrived since then. This still unfinished and already rusty wonder is now open to the general public only during weekends. The price of the ticket has dropped from 15 to 12 Euro, but almost everybody can easily get the reduced rate of 10 Euro.
